Baptism Party

After the church service and baptism we headed to Chris' grandma's and grandpa's house. They live practically next store to the church so it was the perfect location. We had food brought in and enjoyed spending the afternoon with loved ones. Savannah was a trooper! It was a long afternoon of putting her feet in the pool, playing with cousins, being held and introduced to lots of people! She was so busy that she skipped all of her naps until the end of the afternoon. We were trying to grab a few family photos but she just fell asleep. No fuss, no fight, no tears she just closed her eyes and went to sleep while we were taking pictures.

After an afternoon of celebrating Savannah, we went had birthday dinner with Chris's dad. It was great for Savannah to be able to celebrate her "Grandpops" birthday with him. What a fabulous day of fun and family!

Savannah's Baptism

Today was Savannah's baptism. She was baptized at Manchester United Methodist Church. This is the same church I was baptized and where Chris and I were married. Savannah is so blessed to have such a wonderful family. She was able to meet all most all of Chris's aunts, uncles and cousins and it was a great excuse to get all sides of the family together for one special occasion.

Savannah was also a hit! While the three of us were on alter, the minister began talking to us and introduced us to the congregation. He made a statement about how he was going to ask Chris and I the questions and that we would respond for Savannah until she was of an age that she could decide for herself. As he asked the first question about affirming her faith...she responded with what sounded an awful lot like "yeah". What was priceless was that her response was loud and timed in the exact right spot that it truly sounded like she was answering for herself. The congregation immediately started laughing and applauding for Savannah! It was definitely unforgivable baptism!

Afternoon at the Winery

Today we spent the afternoon at a winery with my parents, Megan, Jon and Nana. It was great to finally be able to enjoy the nice weather! We also surprised my parents with an early 40th wedding anniversary present. We had the top tier of the wedding cake recreated and brought it with us to the winery. Their anniversary isn't until July 31st...but we figured why not celebrate when we could all be in town. I think for once, we may have actually surprised them!

Swimming???

After having lunch with my mom and Nana we headed over to Chris' Grandma and Grandpa's. The weather is starting to warm up but by my radar the their pool water is still pretty cold....although, I am not sure Savannah agrees!

The Great Nana

My Nana arrived in St. Louis today! She is 89 years old and hasn't traveled by herself in many, many years...the things that Savannah will get people to do! Savannah is being baptized this weekend and my Nana didn't want to miss it. I am very excited to spend the next few days with her and am so thankful that she made the trip to meet Savannah. Savannah is lucky to have the opportunity to get to know three of her great-grandparents!

Dinner with Grandpop and Debi

Tonight we continued introducing Savannah to family by having dinner with Chris' dad and Debi. After dinner we went back to their house where Savannah was entertained by tupperware!

We have only been here a few days and are loving being able to spend so much time with family....and they are loving and spoiling Savannah as much as they can. During our stay in St. Louis, we are trying to spend as much time with everyone as we can. We will go back and forth spending the nights at either my parents house or Chris' mom's and spending our days with whoever is free. We will be here for 2 1/2 weeks, which seems like a long time but I have a feeling it is going to go by really fast.

Meeting Aunt Megan and Uncle Jon

Today while Chris golfed with his Grandpa, Savannah and I met my mom for lunch then we headed back to my parent's house for dinner. Savannah finally got to meet Aunt Megan and Uncle Jon! They even came bearing gifts from Megan's recent trip to North Carolina. As you can see by Savannah's long sleeves and pants that the weather is much cooler than we expected (or is normal for St. Louis in May). This outfit was given to us by friends in Detroit and we have borrowed some other clothes from a friend, since Savannah only seems to own "summer attire".
