Savannah turned 18 months old today. We went to the doctor the other day for her vaccinations and check up. She is in 50 percentile for both height and weight. She weighs 11.2 kg (24 lbs) and is roughly 80 cm (31.5 in) tall. I was worried that her weight would be affected by her picky eating but according to the doctor she looks great. We are supplementing with an iron and multi vitamin just to make sure she is getting all her nutrients.
She is active as ever. Running or dancing everywhere. She loves to cuddle but can also be very strong-willed (which is funny and frustrating all at the same time). She loves to gives kisses (but on her terms) and has a new interest in Minnie and Mickey Mouse. She also just recently started to like watching the Leap Frog Alphabet Factory movie but is uninterested in any other TV or movies (except for Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse).
Every week she is adding new words (or part words) to her vocabulary. Recently she has added; on, socks, be be (baby), bye-bye, uh-oh, eyes and ch (cheese). We also find it funny that she often calls me "mum". We have no idea where this came from but she is pretty consistent with the word and only really uses "ma ma" if she wants something.
Savannah can also find her (or yours) head, hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, shoulders, elbows, knees, belly button and toes.
She waves bye-bye and loves the attention that our front desk staff pays her every time we leave the apartment. She also knows the sound that the letter w makes and can sometimes hold up one finger and say “one” when asked how old she is (but again on her own terms). She also occasionally can recognize the letter s but I am not convinced that she actually knows it, instead is just lucky!
This week she started trying to jump, which basically means she stands on her tippy toes and she loves accessories (like mother like daughter?). She goes into the closet and will come out with one of my shoes or Chris's belt to wear. She also loves to carry around shopping bags, placing treasures and toys in them as she goes.
This is really a fun age. I love watching her grow and change every day!
