Home Sweet Home

Yesterday Nana babysat Savannah so that I could get my haircut. This week we have also played lots of Qwirkle games (a gift from Aunt and Uncle)...Savannah even tried to get in on the action!

Today my mom also babysat Savannah so that Chris and I could go to the US Consulates office. We decided to sell our house in Detroit and although, not quite the investment we were hoping for when we bought the house 8 years ago, we were lucky enough to find a buyer. The Consulates office was able to Notarize our papers so that we could close on the house without actually being in Detroit. With the poor housing market in Detroit we decided this was as good as time as any to try and sell. This way our options are completely open upon our return home. As of Friday, January 21st, we will no longer be home owners. It is definitely a bitter sweet feeling. It is great to not have to worry about a mortgage and the upkeep on a house we are not currently living in but at the same time that was our first home and the home we purchased to start our family in. We have learned a lot about being home owners and have been able to create many memories in our first home that we will carry with us as we create our next home.
