Beijing's National Stadium, more commonly known as the Bird's Nest was designed for use throughout the 2008 Summer Olympics. Sadly, today the stadium is really only used as a tourist attraction. We had planned on going to Olympic Park during our stay but a family we met in the hotel told us the day they went you could go onto the track...so we were excited to get that close to Olympic history Unfortunately the day we went they were doing some work on the field and track so they wouldn't let us past the stands.
The Bird's Nest is located in Olympic Green or Olympic Park. Directly near the Bird's Nest is the Water Cube, the Olympic Cauldron and the Ling Long Tower (which houses the International Broadcasting Center).
